Use the OLFA knife that they recommended in the Homebuilt Help video to make the cut. It really makes a nice precise cut.

As we speak, I am installing mine. Scary cutting into that beautiful skin. No reason you can’t retrofit that I can see. The drawings are really vague. Roger sent me the updated drawing since mine was really old. There seems to be two schools of thought on this - I am installing hinge pin down and putting the hinge just aft of the spar. The drawing he sent me had it that way. Hope this helps. Watch out for your electrical wires.
