- Flying since 1980 instrument private cert. Worked at slc international for over 8 years where I had the opertuninty to fly a huge variety of aircraft. I owned a bonanza v35B at the time. It was the showroom model in 1971 and was an exceptional plane that also afforded me opportunity to trade time in planes like t33 at6 vampire and other fun planes. I was also able to fly many biz jets turbo twins and older planes as well dc3 and beach 18 time was easy to come by then. I owned and operated a lawn sprinkler repair company and re built and flipped houses in the winter. I have flown in Australia and New Zealand as well as the US and Canada. And New Zealand had some fun crazy challenging flying at the time and I'm sure still does. Flying off of glaciers and landing deep in a fjord at see level after a complicated instrument approach to take you down into the tall cuts in the land was exciting. My sons are now getting there certs and I'm hoping the 601 will do a good job as a primary trainer and double as transport some 500 miles south for my ageing father when necessary.
