Have injected epoxy into the stiffener and now inserting the steel rod, it is the full length of the stiffener. Then just bond-do the hole up and paint.

Sent you a comment earlier today but I don't believe you received it. I like how you reinforced your doors and plan on doing the same. I have a few questions. First, are the stiffners hollow and all you are really doing is reaming them out to 1/4" ? Do you think an aluminum rod would work as well and save a little weight? and lastly, approximately how much epoxy did you use for each rod? Would appreciate any help, Thank You.
