Very impressive watching Ted drop his 601 onto dirt runway and pretending he was a high wing bush plane. He actually put must of us to shame, and on departure also. We were embarrassed, until he scraped the underside of his wing on a creosote bush…..never happens with us…...

Bob, I gotta tell you, at the expense of Ted's head swelling, all of us were really, really impressed. He dropped that 601 in like it was a true bush plane, and when he took off on the dirt runway which wasn't packed at that time, in about 500 ft, 3,100 elevation, he said, "why cut it close?"

My CH601HD Rotax 912 80 hp, no flaps but it has VG's installed also thinks its a STOL aircraft.
