I haven't had any luck finding instructions on the website for the new type forged aluminum (rounded) fork, which I just bought. The instructions I found relate only to the old square fork.

Do I assume correctly that you start with a #40 and open it up with a 1/4 inch hole?

Which specific (AN) bolt do you use to attach the fork to the strut?

In the present configuration, the bolt in the rear center position scrapes the tire. I presume I'll avoid that with the new fork.

My version 3 plans show (4) AN4-10A attaching the lower curved plate of the front tube to the fork.

Is the curved plate on your current tube similar to the curvature of the new fork?

There is also a 6.4mm drain hole on the plate...

Good Luck...

Thanks, Dave. I appreciate your help. I bought a new tube and fork, so they are compatible. Do you know why the "old" flat plate and fork had six bolts and the new one has four? Maybe to keep the center bolt from cutting a groove into the tire? It's strong enough I guess, with enough system redundancy?

Wayne,

Really don't know anything about the old flat plate and fork...

I think precisely locating the holes is the biggest issue you will face with the new fork. I see that some people have also inserted the bolts "upside down" to allow more tire/hardware clearance.  I stayed conventional with bolts pointed down with nuts between tire and fork.

Good luck!

Dave
