Online Community of Zenith Builders and Flyers
I'll admit it-
I have spent that last 10 years building my plane and I think I was under the (false) assumption that once it's built then there's nothing else to fix for awhile (at least)
However, I got my A/C in December and my todo list actually seems to be expanding not shrinking. It's "normal" to still chase gremlins with 5 hours TT right? (chattering brakes, airleak around canopy, a million little tweaks [not twerks]etc right? right? someone? anyone?

totally normal.... 6 years flying and still tweaking changing and improving. As a builder we feel the details and want to fix the (sometimes sight) anomalies, nothing wrong with that.If you buy a cessna there would be a lot of things to improve or change, but you don't because you are not allowed to and there fore you do not see them.

Hey Brad, I expect I might be little worse off. I spent 8 years building, first flew it a year ago, and have only flown it 5 times. I've rebuilt half the engine after flight number 1. Then redesigned the air baffles, then replaced the carb. Just got the new carb on it, and found it's running too lean and have the brand new carb apart now. Almost time for it's anual and I've only flown about 2 hours! I think I'm getting closer to the light at the end of the tunnel and I suppose it's to be expected that some take a little more TLC to get right. Make you feel any better?
