I bought a can of preservative oil for the cylinders. My main question is what do I use to "mist" into into the cylinders? Some kind of spray bottle or ???
Fyi - The engine is not running.
Any other tips on using it?
I do have the dehydrators to install after misting / fogging.

We used to preserve engines by spraying preservative oil using an oil can pump with a running engine at idle into the carb intake until the engine choked out, that way you have a good amount of oil on everything. You can also change the oil out to 2F preservative oil, run the engine to lube everything up well and shut it down, install the plugs, seal the intake and exhaust and you should be good. You can drain the oil at that point as well, but I never did just in case somebody decides to start it and forgets there is no oil in it... trust me it's happened. You can re-use the 2F oil every year and run it for a max of 50 hours between overhauls if I remember so you can fly with it if needed. It will plug the sludge tubes eventually though, so best not too fly with it too much....
If it's not running, best bet is to pull the plugs and use an oil can to squirt oil in the cylinders, you can rotate the prop to get the piston down and cover all the cylinders with the oil but when you're done don't rotate it anymore or you will scrape off the oil. Put in the dehydrator plugs, seal the exhaust and intake with a plastic bag and elastic and add dehydrating pouches in those areas as well. Make sure you flag the engine with a tag to make sure you don't forget to take them out in the spring!
