Ronald, I have found that long straight accurate cuts have best been accomplished by rough cutting the material a little oversize. Then using a homemade straight edge, that I can clamp the material in, I then use a flush trim carbide router bit to trim the material to size. Doing it this way I can get the final size to within 1/2 mm or less.
Your philosophy on building is one I also have taken to heart. I too am invoved in building the main wing spr for my Cruzer. I had to make a jig so it could be cut accurately to a 209 mm width
