Kay - have you flown your plane yet?
Yes, I started with a nose bowl from aircraft spruce. From the nose back it is just aluminum. I attached it to the fuse with south co 1/4 turn fasteners on the top half and put nut plates on the bottom half of the cowl to attach it. Down the sides I used a piano hinge. Ill get some close up pictures tomorrow of it if you like..All the bottom cowl is sheet aluminum with a fiberglass section made where the air filter comes out and meets the nose bowl. I goofed a little when I made the knob for the starter snout. I got it all painted and mounted and then when I got to the airport to put the prop and spinner on it interfered with the knob......NUTS!!!.... so I just trimmed the knob off so there is a hole now where the end of the starter comes out..
Cheers
Tell us about the cowling Kay. Did you make that as well?
Looking good! What sort of instrumentation did you go with?
Very Nice! I like your paint colors and design. Ready to fly. I noticed the shape of the rear window is different from the kit. BTW, where are your N numbers?
