SOLD!

3-wheel amphibious floats. Yellow. I bought these over ten years ago and have never used them - just stored at the back of my hangar. I believe they came off a Savannah. They’re 12’ 6” long excluding the water rudder, and about 21” max width. Link to photos: https://smile.amazon.com/photos/share/cs6y89i80uKIu8vemVm0q3cW2DUTHZ4Y86EcNRrM56u

Hi Chris,

Are your floats still for sale?

Thanks!

Herb

Sorry Herb, I gave up monitoring this thread a year after I originally posted and also didn't realize that I could adjust my settings to receive notifications (duh). Anyway, the floats are still for sale although I guess you've long since found some.

Chris

I think these are 950s and use the straight gear and a long nose wheel if Im correct...

Hello Chris,

Yes, still looking, and I too don’t check on the website very often and just saw your comments from half a year ago. Just wondering if you sold them? If not I was hoping to get a bit more details.

cheers Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Yes, they're still for sale. What further details would you like?

BR, Chris

Chris,
I see you bought them 10 years ago, do you know when they were made before that? (Were they home built or factory?) They do look like they’re in fairly good shape from the pictures.
With Covid there’s no rush(looking like months until we are allowed to travel across the boarder- I’m north of Toronto)but I’d like to see some pictures inside the wheel well of the tire/brake assembly and the lift mechanism.
Also a closer look at the nose wheel retract mechanism.
Cheers
Thomas
PS I have a cousin in Katy, that looks close to KIWS

Thomas,

I have no real idea of when they were originally made, but I got the impression that the guy I bought them from bought them new and only had them on his plane for a 'few' years (2 to 3?).

I'm 99% certain that they're factory-made - I think that there was a company in the Czech Republic that made them.

I will take some photos of the areas you mention next time I'm out there. Send your email address to me (sgtpilot@gmail.com) as it's easier than dealing through this forum.

I am close to the Katy/Houston border about 5 miles south of KIWS.
