701 Match Drilled kit

Has anyone ordered the 701 with the match drill and either received it or gotten a ship date?  Ordered mine in April and when I talked to them in November they had no idea of when it would be ready or even an estimate.  I’m trying to decide whether to cancel the order or possibly changing to the 750 STOL as they are match drilled.  Any suggestions would be appreciated…..I really want to build this but I’m not getting any younger!  Lol

Hi Rick,

I have wings/slats/flaps that i ordered recently from Zenith having already built my tail section. The 701 isnt available yet as a match-hole kit but they are working on it. As of 2 weeks ago when i talked to Roger about my kit, only the fuselage is available as match hole/final size cnc kit. The other component kits are not match hole cnc as of yet. They are much more refined than the older kits ( pre drilled skins etc ) but they are not at the same level of refinement as a 750.

Thanks for the info.  I talked to Roger last week and he told me the same thing.  I'm picking up my fuselage kit on February 8.  Just glad to get started.

I pick up my 701 kit on 1/11, with match drill fuselage, and rudder. This was a complete kit.

Looks good.  Thanks for the info.  Picking up my fuselage kit on 2/8 and did the rudder at a build class at the factory.  Are you posting your build on the EAA Builders site?  Just curious as I'd like to keep up with how your build progresses.  Especially since you are going to be ahead of me and I can compare results...and maybe ask questions.  :-)
