Scott, fabricate some clips with 1/8 S/S welding rod. A vise and a drill bit of appropriate diameter for the 180 bend, clamp in vise and beat the angle into the bend for the spring hook. I had to make a couple recently when I had the cracked muffler. The clips are hard to find online or will take forever from UL Power. You can make them in about 10 minutes. Or... go to any muffler shop as Robert suggested. HTH - Dave

Thanks, I purchased this as a partially completed kit with the engine already installed. The exhaust pipe was missing. I ordered a new exhaust pipe from Wicks and they sent just the exhaust pipe with no attachment points. Common sense should tell them that if someone is ordering an exhaust pipe the attachments should be included!

Scott,

There were no attachment points for the springs on the exhaust pipe when I received my engine either. They did send those u shaped wire “attachment points” (I don’t know what you call them) with the hardware for the engine. Then you welded them on where you wanted them. I assume the idea was to line up the springs after you position the pipe through your cowl so that the springs are pulling in a straight line and correct tension. That’s just my assumption. If you mark where the spring should attach, a muffler shop should be able to fabricate a hook out of heavy welding wire and weld them on.
