 Your solution is outstanding. Our canopy is the standard 601 without rollbar, however there may be a possible attachment that we have yet to work out. It is likely that we will convert to the 650 canopy in the future as Lurlene really likes the rollbar. I have installed an eye bolt just rear of the right canopy lock which receives a carribeaner that is secured in the baggage area behind the passenger seat. This is just a temporary solution until after we get 601WL into the air. Thanks so much for your response and the neat idea.   Wes

I just remembered one of my Aussie friends 601xl and stock canopy fitted a similar device which is way cheaper that what I used. As you can see, is simply mounted in a piece of ally angle.

Thanks for the pics Phill. The stock canopy can make the attachment as shown, however we opted to purchase a canopy from Zenair which riveted the canopy to the tube. As wear takes its toll and the rivets loosen we will probably replace rivets with a more flexible connection and attach the secondary latch in a similar manner.
