First we'd like to thank all who responded to our last request for help on our flap position sensor. It really helped and our sensor turned out great. Now we'd appreciate suggestions for a secondary canopy latch. We tried one that didn't work out too well. Pictures are especially appreciated!

Hi Wes
This is my example using a rope cleat from a chandelry. There many other types of cleats available but after trying all of them that were accessible to me, I decided that this was the best and most reliable. Also the most expensive due to its mechanism, about $70 AUD.
Rope cleat is fastened to a .125" plate and fixed to the roll over bars with 6 A5 rivets
Rope length is set to just shy of full travel of the canopy so if it goes up fast with the wind behind it, the rope arrests the bending stresses of the sudden stop
Rope cleat is a Spinlock PXR0206 and a 6mm rope. Flick the rope firmly rearward to lock and forward to release.
.063" plate atached to the rear hoop with 4 A5 rivets.
Hope this helps you.

Hi Wes
How did you get on with your secondary latch mechanism? You probably have a bit more variety of products in the USA as with most things.
