Dynon EFIS D100 Product Review

This will be the first in a series of Product Reviews. Rules are simple, you have to use the Dynon D100. Post your thoughts, pros and cons and end with your Recommendation.

Dynon's EFIS-D100 is one of the most affordable large screen Electronic Flight Information Systems on the market today. The 7" wide-screen display features large, easy to read text and graphics and is capable of displaying multiple pages of information in a side by side split screen format. Connecting the EFIS-D100 to other Dynon products via its multi-drop DSAB network allows you share information between units, and even add an autopilot!

Love it so far. For some reason it would not boot up one day and I had to send it back to Dynon... That was a bummer, but what was refreshing was their approach. No hassles, just send it in with an RMA and get it back in week. Their customer service rocks, and that's important in my book. The install is as easy as it gets, and the product seems to be pretty robust. I think my issue was just a fluke. Battery back up is cool too.

have almost 900 hours on a D180 which is roughly equivalent to a D100 and D120 in a single unit. It has never failed me. It provides a tremendous amount of information in a small package. I recommend it without reservation and would buy another. On the other hand, Dynon's new Skyview system looks way cool so I might go that way if I were building today.

I have a D100 with OAT hooked up to a Garmin 196 and 2 servos. I have 250 hrs in the last 2 yrs and every thing works fine, It was easy to install and have performed as advertised and the auto pilot works great. I have just ordered a new unit for the CH 750 currently being built, I plan to fit the auto pilot early next year also.

I have a D100 and a D120, and have a little over 100 hours on them. The D100 has worked great with no problems. I recently had an issue with the D120 where it wouldn't boot up. I had to send it back to Dynon where they had to replaced the main board. No charge to me, but a little inconvenience due to the plane being down for 2 weeks (most of it shipping the unit to Dynon and back). Overall I'm happy with my Dynons and would recommend them to others.
