Yamaha Apex Powered CH750 Cruzer Now Flying !!
Quick update to say my Yamaha Apex / Skytrax Gearbox / E-Prop Durandal powered Cruzer is flying and performing above expectations (which were high to begin with !). Performance has been truly outstanding. Added benefit has been the small radiator / heat exchanger and fan I installed behind the panel. It being fall and getting cold here in Canada it sure is nice to be able to continue to fly with the colder weather and still be nice and warm inside the aircraft. The liquid cooled Yamaha engine set up made this possible and I like it a lot!

Achieved another milestone this week by completing my first 25 hours with my Apex powered Zenair CH750 Cruzer. The aircraft performance is amazing and the Apex engine / Skytrax gearbox / E-Prop 3 blade Durandal carbon fiber prop combination has been flawless over these first 25 hours. My setup is what I'll call stock original Yamaha Apex as it has the stock original from the Apex sled ECU, original but modified by Ian Bange wiring harness, original regulator and oil reservoir. Loving this Yamaha Apex engine! (note: in first picture the airspeed does not show for some reason but was 92mph at a smooth 7200rpm and 3gph (Apex can go to 10,000rpm!). GPS ground speed on the iPad is showing 73mph as heading into the wind).

Congrats! What diameter E-props were you able to use? And what is your max performance engine RPM and prop RPM based on that gearbox?
