    Jim,

I have a question concerning lighting systems and what you are using? Did you go with the LED system from Zenith and did you add a tail light?

Hurry and get your hrs flown off. If the weather Gods wiil stay happy, maybee we can fly up to Zenith in June for the "Fly In". Jim Gallaway and I did it last year. If you will promise to fly slow maybe I can keep up and get some in flight shots.

Thanks Jim. That's a pretty good weight, I think. Have you flown it yet?

    Jim,

Thanks for the kind offer. Once we start the build I'm sure your experience will be a major asset. Yes... Jackson is just down the road a piece...

Kathy and I were at Zenith yesterday and both had the opportunity to sit in the 750 and take Demo rides. It was Kathy's first ride in any small aircraft and she came back beaming...! It was almost a religious experience for her...and she was on the verge of tears. She simply had convinced herself that flying an LSA was beyond her capability and yesterday's flight allowed her to realize that she actually could pilot an LSA as a handicapped person.

She had no difficulty getting in or out of the plane. We both agree that the 750 is a far better choice for us than the 650, given her physical limitations. The Zenith staff were great as always and Rodger was especially helpful in making Kathy's first flight memorable. She was so pumped up we could not leave without buying her a hat and T-shirt...and she talked about the flight all the way back to Farmington.

When I flew with Rodger, I was very impressed with the flying qualities. It was a little bumpy yesterday from the thermals but the 750 remained surprisingly stable. Hands off was straight and level. The plane felt very solid... Very little rudder correction was needed. Coming from flying Stearman's...I won't know what to do with my feet.

We have a Shelby Cobra roadster replica to finish and by that time the full 750 plan set should be available and we will start on the 750.

In the mean time...anybody need a new set of XL-650 Plans?

Hi Jim, I am waiting for my 750 kit,( early Dec) I am leaning towards the o-200 for power. I have read your information about heating, did you get the o-200 to run at acceptable cht levels ? Also, what prop/ pitch combination did you go with. Any information would be helpful
    Thanks, Jim Derickson
  • Clemens Kramer

Jim, my 750 will be inspected on the 9th of Jan. The DAR said we would have to fill out another form because the 750 kit is not on the approved list. This form is a series of questions and the yes's have to be 1 more than the no's (51%). Did you have to do this and if so could you inlighten me or email me a copy of yours so I could be consistent.
    thanks

Jim, Are you using any kind of fuel pump or just a gravity feed fuel system?
    Thanks, Bruce
  • Jim Smith

Hi Bruce, I do not have a fuel pump and gravity feed has worked great. I actually bought an electric in line pump when I was building her so I would have guaranteed line pressure but I realized that the pump defaulted "closed" if there was an electric failure. That did it for a pump. I decided to go with the old "Cessna" gravity system and I haven't had even an engine "burp".

Thanks, Billy and I are glad to be part of the zenith club.
    Have a great day. Stevie
