Engine: WW Corvair
Metal Model Maker / GM.
I have worked in the metal trades for 30 years and am looking at this as my retirement gift to self. I will continue to post changes here as I make them.
I'm about to post the Zenith dinner photos on my page on this site, so you can check them out there. Be sure to keep in touch, particularly if you head down south. I'll probably make back to Osh in 2012. Next year I'm taking a three week driving trip up to Glacier Park so a week at Airventure is not a likely option.
Good mornin' Ron. Glad to hear that you are back in black so to speak. One of my flying buddies who lives about 7 miles west of me has two sons doing medical residencies in the Detroit area, and he is there visiting them this past week. The world just keeps getting smaller, don't it?
Thanks. I'm a bit proud of the paint job, so far, mainly because I opted for man/hours in stead of dollars. I bought four cans of metal spray paint from Lowe's and several packs of plastic 12 x 20 sheets and a couple of rolls of scotch blue painter's tape and that's it so far. I still have the rear section and rudder to do but even then it should all cost less than one hundred dollars. How is your plane coming along?
No, no. The white was done. I used the 'rattle cans' for the red and gold and a skateboarder gave me the yellow non-skid. What is that wooden structure?
Ron- Met you at cc#17. I have a question for you- I'm working on cabin floor and floor stiffner- did you mount gascolator per Zac plans? I don't want to cut hole in skins if there is a better way - I'll be using corvair engine- Any other hints on the fuel system?
Ron Thanks for your reply on gascolator location. My computer went down so could'nt answer sooner. I had forgotten that WW had that manual-I have one on order.
That nose bowl looks sweet. I have been a fan of the shot bag and english wheel myself, I know how much work and talant you have into this bowl. Nice job
