I am finishing a 60`HDS that is fitted with a Subaru ea81 motor. The water cooling radiatior is fitted under the fuselage, close behind the front undercarriage.
As there is no stop on the front undercarriage, it is possible for the wheel spat to impact with the underside of the radiator.
What is the best solution to this problem?
I have contemplated fitting a pair of steel cable stops to the front undercarriage to limit their travel and also to relocate the radiator further rearward so it is completely clear of the wheel spats. This will of course have an impact on the aircrafts weight and balance.
Hello Caleb, You kindly gave me some advice regarding my wing spar for my 801. I have lost your e-mail address as my computer was stolen so hence contacting you through the builder's web site. Do you have any information on dual throttle control installation for the 801 with a Lycoming O 360 engine?
A belated thankyou for your reply re the firewall nose wheel linkages seals.
I am sorry to be slow in replying, had an unexpected problem with my mother-in-laws health just after I raised the question, she has since passed away – funeral and aftermath now all over, so only just putting my plane back on the “menu”!
You refer me to parts 75F8-7 and 75F8-8, I assume from your reply that they will fit just as well on the 701. I have just placed an order. Thanks
Thanks Caleb for you patience with my questions. You are my source of information when I have to deal with those specially difficult parts of the airplane. After all, I am an IT guy so all is new to me. LOL.
