    yes it would change the cg , somthing to consider .
    are you building from scratch you mentioned that your wings are longer with no slats .this is what i am planning to do as well, i just dont know if i will add to the nose ribs yet.
    im just trying to determin the effects before i start building the wings .

    Hi Kevin
    The air foil is somewhat lower than the root rib. The shape is derived by making a cardboard pattern of the wingroot top skin 7v9-3 then cutting the part that would extend over the top of the cabin in a straight line along the edge of the cabin. The profile formed is then used to make mdf form blocks . When the wing is mated to the fuselage the root top skin and the skin the cabin roof meet with a butt joint. The gap has to be the covered with a formed in place fiberglass fairing. If I were to do it again I would make it the same height as the root rib. In this case you would have to extend the cabin roof skin to the root rib. The wing root skin to be trimmed flush with root rib. Again a fiberglass fairing would be used to cover the gap. I got the idea to install cabin vents in the space created by the raised cabin but the rib I made is not high enough to accomodate the available eyeball vents. By making it the same size as the root rib would allow this.

    You could use lexan instead of aluminum, I have a Zenair CH250 with a bubble canopy and it gets quite warm so I chose to go with a solid roof. I may put a triangular window in later similar to the Land Africa( another 701 copy)

    Kevin, I work at Arctic Cat Inc. so the Suzuki motor I have is from a snowmobile. It cost me $1000 and I had Raven Redrive build a drive system and a motor mount and I did the rest. The motor is setup to run 6300 rpm's takeoff and runs 5600-5700 cruise. It makes 112 hp at 6300 rpm's. It it a turbo and I run about 18 lbs boost at takeoff. I found all the parts to build the firewall forward at Arctic Cat. If a person was going do a motor like this the best thing would be to buy a used complete sled and you would have anything you need or find a Arctic Cat dealer and he could maybe help find a motor. I have made a few small changes but it runs great and I have 63 hours on it at this time. It leaves the ground in about 75 feet, way more power then you need. My plans are to put it on floats.

    hey kevin im not shure if you got the other email the engine is from aero max the ww group i could not get intouch with them when i needed  so it worked out better with aeromax they also have designed a stator charge system no belt and puts out plenty of power  very light

    the engine was test run for 2 hours they also made the motor mount they have the template so if its something your interested the cowl will be available as soon as i make a mold and test it and make shure the numbers are in the green, as of now after running 30 minutes the cht 250-300 oil temp 180-195 so after test flying checks out we willmake it available plus the cooling system is cooling plenums also we will have to test also if not convert back to old set up its been tested and flying with other planes working great but 701 flying slow we have to test   be well   joe
