    Roger,

I am not an owner/builder at this time. I am still stuck on the Zenith/Kitfox fence! I am, however, pretty darn close by at the Northern end of Sherman County between Rufus and Wasco. Congratulations on taking the plunge! If you happen to find yourself in need of any free labor, give me a call. I am worth every penny...

    Take care and have fun,

    Jon Ramos

The 701 is a great plane and I enjoyed building it and now, flying in it.  If you have any questions, let me know and I will try and help.

I went to the factory build school and thought it was pretty good - - however, it didn't teach me enough about taking rivets out!

Hi Roger.  I'm a year into building my 701.  Glad to learn there's another 701 somewhere here in Oregon.  I'm in Gresham, just east of Portland.  Belong to EAA 902 out of Mulino near Canby.  Check in if you're anywhere in the area.

    Best,

Roger...  Maupin is great.  I spent a summer at the Carver Ranch there, shooting a movie, "Purple Mind."  That's what I used to do.  Now I'm a Zenith builder, stuck waiiting for my finishing kit to ship.  Fuselage, wings, HS & VS done.  Just did overhaul on a Great Plains VW Type 4 I picked up from an EAA guy in our group, but feels like I'm standing still.  Sounds ideal with your 1,000 foot home strip.  Not sure where or when I'll hangar my plane.  Trying to do as much as possible in the garage before trailering my whole shop to a hangar - perhaps Sandy River Airpark.  We'll have to do a meetup once the weather takes a turn for the better.

    Cheers
