I heard there was somebody around building but my search failed. Received my 750 kit in mid Feb. Rudder went quickly, and now about 90% done with horz stab. I called Hupe about hanger space and he said they didn't have any. Have you contacted a CFI yet?
I live about 5mi west of Wamego. I hope when I get experienced I will be able to land in my pasture. We should get together sometime. 785-617-0808.
I am early in planning. So far torn between the 750SD and the 801SD. Trying to find one of each near by that I can get it, get a feel for. Had a 701 fly through McPherson (I live there on the weekend but stay in Topeka during the week). I believe he is based out of Derby, KS. No one was around the plane so I didn't want to do more then an external walk around.
I have to pick it up in Minnesota, so it will be a month or so before I get up there. I know the canopy, front gear and rudder were all damaged. I wont know more till I pick it up.

Robert,
Thank you for reaching out to me. I actually bought the plane June 29, 2019. I have only flown it about 7 hours as I went out of town for the 4th. I spoke with Joyce at Zenith and she provided me a list of builders in the area and you were on the list I was going to reach out to. I would absolutely like to get to know others in the area that have Zenith aircraft as I think it could be fun flying around together and pointers on modifications etc. I have the plane located at Emporia Ks KEMP but will be moving it home when I get comfortable build some time. Get power off landings down in the case of an emergency situation. I also am in the process of ordering a new door as when the plane was being delivered opened during flight and broke apart. It was the fiberglass frame 3rd generation build. So I am doing a lot of firsts right now. Unfamiliar plane, engine, instruments, and no doors. I am new to this forum and unsure if can send any private messages. Feel free to email me and can exchange numbers. HVACKC@yahoo.com
The inboard return line works fine. I haven't flown yet, but I have just over 2 hours of run time on the engine and having the return line on the inboard end of the fuel tank seems to work fine. Due to the wing dihedral, the inboard end will always be the "deepest" end of the tank. Couple that with the constant sloshing during flight, and the fuel cooling should not be an issue.

Thanks, Robert. May I ask what the cost of your UL350 was with prop and all other additions?

Yes, that would be very tempting, if you were closer. I assume you don't want to separate the plans.
