    Hi Ben,
I know exactly how you feel.  I started my rudder in April 2008.  I started building pretty consistent when I got the rest of the kit in August, then moved, had two kids and changed jobs. Needless to say, building took a backseat.. I’m getting close now and hope to move it out of the garage and to the airport in the next few weeks.
I’ve been looking at that steel bungee recently because my 11 year old bungee is stretched out and useless now.  Do you know of any 801s actually flying with the Viking bungee?  I think I’ll order one just make sure it’s installed before I move it to the airport.
Did you have to order anything different for the 801?
The next time I’m in Milwaukee, I’ll have to look you up if you don’t mind someone looking at your project.  I was just there in August getting a type rating in the Shorts SD3-60.
    Take care and happy building...
    Chane

I was shying away from the donut system for the same reason. I already have my engine installed ant it would be lots of work to modify the firewall.  I’m convinced now and I’ll order the steel bungee tomorrow.
You’re always welcome in Arizona too.
