Building and Flying Info / Your Profession / Other Background Info
I am currently flying a Cessna Cardinal 177A (1969). I have had my PPL since 1971 but I am a a low time pilot. I am coming off a twenty year layoff from active flying. I have been flying with safety pilots, waiting for the medical reform to happen. I am looking into LSA aircraft for my future flying. I am serious about STOL, so I can land at my farm and store the plane in my equipment shed. My biggest problem with most LSAs is they are too small for me, (I am 6'5" and 250lbs).
I have not built an airplane before, but I have 25 years experience fabricating large illuminated signs. This experience includes sheet metal, and steel fabrication and electrical wiring. I also gutted and rebuilt our farm house, (complete plumbing, wiring, heating and air, and new interior remodeling.)
I am now retired from raising cattle and farming and need a new project to keep me busy.
