Hi Bob, I really did not have a problem with the wood prop per say, I just thought it did not perform well with the 80 hp rotax. I spend 2-3 days playing with pitch, the factory says 16.5 and I ended up with a pitch of 13 degrees. I talk to someone who was more knowledge than I on props and he said the wood one like we have is a speed tip which is mend for a faster cleaner design than the 701. He said you need to get a wide tip prop for the 701 such as the warp drive or kool. I think the warp is a heavy prop and I read about the kool performance on the 701 and luck have it I was able to buy a use 70" kool. Your vibration problem with the wood is either carb balance or your blades are out of sync. I know I had both problems when I first started messing with the wood prop. I found the wood prop hard to set the blades. I even made a wooden lever to help turn the blades when setting the pitch. Hope this helps. I have about 2.5 hours on KOOL and really like it.

    Pat.
