yes Andrew, They're 0.063 and with quite a large bend radius. They look much sturdier than the originals. While drilling out the rivets from the old brackets I oversized some of the holes. Then I tried a small angle die grinder with abrasive disc and ground the heads of the remaining rivets flush with the old brackets. I used the correct size parallel punch to press out the rivet stems. It worked well, didn't need to use a hammer, didn't have enough room anyway, and the holes were fine.
Back flying a few weeks now. Trying out the mini vortex generators on the elevator.

Hi Andrew, Lost track of the time taken to build from plans. Stopped to complete another 601 I bought for parts but decided it was to good to scrap. Have loaded photographs. Red a/c is plans built the yellow a/c was a kit I finished off.

Hi again Andrew,
Yeah, I'm back in the air since mid September. No problems with the new brackets so far.
Had to replace the altimeter though. This will be the third altimeter I've had in the airplane. They're cheap Chinese made, Falcon gauges I think is the name of the manufacturer. If I was building again I'd go for an EFIS system.

Hope things are good there.
