Background Info:
Originally started building a 601XL, and finished the rudder at the factory workshop. However, some things in my life changed (including getting back into backpacking/camping), so I decided a STOL aircraft was more appropriate. Still finishing up my Chevrolet Corvair engine conversion, and hope to install it in my 750. Just getting started on my 750 tooling. Starting from plans for now, since it is my only option financially. Perhaps my financial situation will change in time for me to build more quickly with kit parts. I am also a member of EAA Chapter 55, based at Mason-Jewett Airport (TEW) in Mason, MI. Hoping to learn, network with others in the Zenith community and have fun.

I was wondering about the Dave brake. Did it use aluminum hinges and if so do you think steel piano hinges would work better or make a difference

I just located the Dave break material list. So it was stainless steel. I've not seen all your bending brake videos so maybe you've answered this already. Do you think a heavier gauge piano Hong might do the trick. I see you went with a metal hinge.you may have already looked into it but I was thinking of calling around to some industrial supply places to see if there exists a very heavy duty piano hinge that would work

    Hong should be hinge...lol
