    Buddy, the rod holder was a last thought befor I put on top skin.i had a joint of thin wall plastic drain line that was left over from a house project. It was cracked on the outside,the inside is a smooth black plastic. It's much lighter than p v c . I just didn't want to go back to Home Depot . Good luck with your project, it will be well worth the hard work, or hard FUN. Dean
