Building and Flying Info / Your Profession / Other Background Info
I used to work as a geoscientist but now I design boats. I purchased a flying 701 that needs some work, and I'm really enjoying it.
I have more physics, chemistry, engineering, and research experience than the average person but I'm not an expert on building and maintaining airplanes. There are people on this forum with much more experience than me and I would defer to them when they speak up. I do respond to a lot of questions here though, mainly because the experts seem to be busy doing other things most of the time. Hopefully I don't come across as a know-it-all... I certainly don't know it all! I just enjoy learning new things, and the best way to learn something is to explain it to someone else.
Hi Matt....not really active on the forum, but I do look at it occasionally. I am not too far away from you down here in the Seattle area. We have a small group of CH701s and 750s that like to go gravel bar flying. I added the canard flap just as a fun project, No issue I was trying to address or fix, but it turned out well and is a lot of fun. Message me your email address and I will send you a PowerPoint I put together explaining the project.

Matt,
Thanks for your solution for sealing the steering rods at the firewall.
Simple, ease to install on the engine side of the firewall and the price seems fair for an aircraft parts.
Dick Jones - was a builder/pilot of a CH-601 and now builder/pilot of a CH-701
