Building and Flying Info / Your Profession / Other Background Info
I am a mechanic by nature and worked for chrysler for 7 years. Never went to school for wrenching. I have a commecial drivers license and have put around 800,000 miles on across the US. This took to much away from my family so now I work for a sugar beet farmer in the Red River Valley on the MN side of the Red River of the north. My employer has flown for years and has had many different planes. Currently a Bellanca Citabria which I will be learning to fly this summer. When my oldest son graduates next year, so the smmer of 2012, the rest of our family(and hopefully my graduated son too) want to move to or near Mexico MO. We have been researching the area and are falling in love with it already! I hope the fact that I haven't already bought a plane yet doesn't get me kicked from here. I'm here to learn an absorb as much info as possible. I have only flown twice in my life(in medium sized jets) but man, I am completely in love with flying! My plan is to build a CH 750.....first. Then I will see what's next! So any info or advice anyone can give me would be profoundly appreciated! And to all of you, be safe and have a great day!

    Welcome to the family.

I wish you the all the best with your project.

If you ever get the chance to visit the Zenith factory please take the time to stop by our builder assist facility too. We like to have visitors here and we are right here in Mexico, Mo. just a couple of miles from them.

    Take care and good luck,

    Hi Jeremy

So you don't have a plane yet hey? Shame, shame, shame on you for joining or elite group of high flyers. Nah just kidding. Welcome to you. Building a plane is a very big financial and emotional commitment and can become a wild rollercoaster if done at the wrong time of your family life or without their support. So the more research you can do the better and you cannot access the model specific forums without membership.

Here is a big piece of advice. Teach your Son how to debur and your Wife how to rivet and your life will be great. They will love the envolvement and you will love not doing so much deburring but as a consequence you will miss out on the some of the best bit, riveting. Second bit of advice. Keep the wife busy with clecoes instead. Really mate, just enjoy it as a unit and all will be fine.

If you are considering moving to Mexico MO, been there nice place, I do strongly advise that you do some time with Bill at ALSA even if it's just the rudder & h/tail because working tollerances in aircraft are a fair bit tighter than everyday items so, Bill's ya man.

So sit back and adsorb as much as you can and ask as many silly questions as you can think of. That's how we learn.

    Regards
