Confused??? You want to mount a CH601HD on floats, but your profile indicates you have a CH701...which is it? Have you tried contacting Zenith Midland, Ontario. They manufacture the Zenith brand floats and probably have the info you want. How is your aircraft registered...Homebuilt or AULA or BULA? If AULA you can only use factory approved floats. Basic UL or Homebuilt its pretty much an open field for type of floats. Personally I think a low wing CH601 on floats is sexy stuff. The low centre of gravity really helps handling on floats...but the low wing is a nightmare to dock....mostly its a beach operation. Amphibs or straight?

If your CH601HD is registered as an AULA it has a Statement of Conformity. As an AULA it flys under the factory authority. The owner is not permited to make any structural changes without the written approval of the manufacturer or his delegate. I am sure Zenith would approve the mounting on floats of a CH601HD..."BUT"... I doubt if they will approve of the use of another manufacturer of floats other than their own. If you violate the SOC you will end up owning a BULA, no passengers (ever) and you must wear a helmet (not always a bad thing). I  have seen a CH601HD mounted on 1150 Zenith amphibs.

A search of your aircrafts registration with Transport Canada indicates it is registered as an AULA with a "Jabiru engine". The Rotax 912 is an AULA approved engine installed in the CH601HD. Try contacting Mark Townsend at Can-Zac for technical support on your float install.
