Thats really bad corrosion for 6061 t6 in any environment for 2 years. I wonder if during the storage any type of pesticides where used on or near your parts. Some pesticides are very corrosive.
YES, Absolutely yes. Urine is extremely corrosive. 6061 will oxidize when exposed to certain corrosives and urine is for sure one of them. 2024 alclad has better surface corrosion resistance if the outer layer is undamaged, but even it would likely oxidize in the presence of urine. It would seem hard to believe that rat or mice urine could so cause such widespread damage though. I would expect something much more localized. This will make me very careful about storage of my parts.
