Building and Flying Info / Your Profession / Other Background Info
Built Pietenpol Aircamper to about 50% (1984) SOLD
Designed 3 place taildragger similar to TCraft (still own). Put on hold 1989 to have children...a decision I NEVER regret!
Currently own and fly:
1947 Cessna 140
1966 Cessna 150 (this will become the donor for my CH750 engine)
1941 Taylorcraft BC12-65
Previous aircraft:
1957 Piper Tri Pacer SOLD
1946 Luscombe 8A SOLD
I am retired and currently reside in our hangar loft located on private airstrip.
I envy you your hangar. I outgrew my 2-car garage shop and had to move my 701 beast to a local boatyard. 20' ceiling and door BUT: no power (I have a generator); 12' wide (luckily I opted for the 701 folding wing ... terrible design); 4 miles from my home.
Hangar space in North Texas (Dallas area) is scarcer than hen's teeth ... 3 year waiting lists and EXPENSIVE. I'm currently looking at purchasing a few acres and building with a garage/workshop/hangar.
I just returned from my Harley trip to Sturgis and this is the first time I've been able to get on line. Saw your pics and looks like your really moving fast on your build. I've finished my workshop, bench and new trailer and can't wait to go to open hanger in September and pick up the rest of my kit. I'll post pictures as soon as I figure out how.
