Online Community of Zenith Builders and Flyers
Hi all, after 6 landings, I found that the rubber pads between the landing gear and fuse, have crushed, to the extend that they snapped, in looking at forums I have found nothing on the subject, when I googled, I found something, they talked about using tyre rubber for new pads, wWould apreciate to know if anyone has had the problem, and a fix for it....
regards Jim.

I tried several options for the first couple years. I went to a local rubber supply house and they said the toughest thing they knew off was half inch thick industrial conveyer belt. It has about 6 layers of cord & rubber. $5 bought a 4 foot length of trimmed off scrap that works great, but I still change them annually.
Jim - The first ones (black colored) I had sheared in a short period of time also. However, the plane spent alot of time on the ramp it's first year (sun and temp changes). I ordered another set from Zenith (red ones) and they have been holding up nicely. Of course the plane is hangered now. I suspect that the outdoors may have been an issue. - Chris
