Got the rear bottom skin riveted in place, fuel tank installed and the top rear skin clecoed on. I want to put wing tip strobes on but don’t have them yet or any wire but I can’t wait to rivet the top skin on. I am thinking about running some ½ inch plastic tubing through the wing, (with a wire or string already in it so I can just attach the “real” wire to it and pull it through). That way I can carry on with the riveting. Anybody have any comments about this?
Thanks,
Bob

Thanks Norman,
That's exactly what I had in mind. Did you use regular PVC tubing? And the maintenance EASE, is that a product or are you saying, save myself some trouble by using the tubing?
Thanks again,
Robert
Hi Robert,
REGULAR THIN PVC. Remember, this is only used as a guide for your wires. EASE is really you having trouble free maintenance IF you have to do any (not a product). Look at my photos, I posted 2 with the wingtip off and you can see the PVC tube ...I think it is 3/4 inch diameter.
I have a friend that is rebuilding his aircraft (after a crash) and he saw those PVC and decided on doing it too.
TOO easy !
Regards, Norm
I thought it might be the thin walled PVC and I understand it's only to guide and protect the wires that will be pulled through. Being in construction I have seen electricians using some kind of lube to push/pull wires through conduit, thought you may have meant that. I do understand the EASY part now.
Thanks all the good advice.
Robert
