Log books

I have a question about log books. I purchased 3 titled aircraft technical records and labeled 1. Airframe log, 2. Installation and modifications log and 3. Engine log.

I'm not sure how to start the usage of these.
Do I need one for the wooden prop or can I use one of these others.

I would like some examples or suggestion on best/ easiest way to track Information properly.

Of course you can keep any number of log books you wish, but I think the "Installation and Modifications" logbook is unnecessary ... any new installs or mods can be recorded in either the aircraft (airframe) log or the engine log, whichever is appropriate. FWIW on my certified planes any STC's or mods entries by the A&P or A&P IA always went in either the aircraft log or the engine log - there wasn't any separate log for mods. I always thought one should/must keep a separate logbook for the prop ... seems every prop I ever had came with a logbook. You might sell or trade engines or props and the buyer will expect the logbook to be included.

So, for my (highly modified) STOL 750, I have 3 logbooks: an aircraft log, engine log, and prop log.
