Greetings-

I have been tracking progress to date on the 801 in a spreadsheet. Now that the building is underway and more regular I wanted to get something more official.  What do you guys use and reccomend?  I was looking at KitLog pro as an option but I was wondering what else might be out there and in use.  http://www.kitlog.com/

Hey, don't feel bad.  I only recently found it myself.  I had used Windows system restore to revert to an earlier Windows 10 build so I could use the program.  Had to switch my wifi settings to "metered connection" to prevent Micro$oft from automatically re-applying the incompatible updates in spite of the fact I backed them out.  Spent several months in that state until I stumbled on the answer in the Vans forum.  I really do like Kitlog Pro, but sure wish it was maintained effectively.

I am still running Windows 7 after managing to stop the automatic update to Windows 10 last fall. Kitlog itself had been prompting for updates but couldn't communicate to do the update. In the attempt to figure out why and fix that is when everything went down hill. Last night after thinking that all was lost I did some experimenting. I got Kitlog to open far enough to reenter the activation code, again... and after copying all three back ups I had to the desktop I discovered that only the first of the three was any good and was able to access my build logs up to February of 2016. It appears that all logs after that are lost and will have to be reconstructed. I do have a note pad of daily notes and a big master file of pictures that were taken that only select ones had been entered in Kitlog. In the meantime I am printing ALL of the records I can still access and will print out every log as it is entered as I reconstruct and those moving forward. All that said, the info on Vansairforce.com was a big help! Kitlog now seems to communicate where it never did before.

Thanks, Greg

Greg, if you have the data files, and you don't mind sharing them, email the or a link to download them to me at ben@avialoft.com and I'll see if I can extract the data for you. It'd help me with providing a migration service to people.

Benjamin, Thanks for the offer! I have a couple ideas now to try. If that doesn't work we can try your idea.

Thanks,

Greg
