I have a question about corrosion Protection between parts prior to riveting.
Would using John Deere’s Buff Primer/Inhibitor part number TY26268 be
acceptable?

Why not use Cortec as recommended by Zenith? No volatile toxic solvents, dries fast - even when diluted with water, and easy cleanup!

If your looking for a spray primer the self etching Zinc Phosphate primer from Aircraft spruce works very well. As a rule here in the Midwest you could simple skip the primer unless you are planning to put it on floats or move near the salt water coastal areas. This is typically fine for the 6061 T6 aluminum that Zenith uses and if you are concerned you can treat it annually with a corrosion prevention spray such as ACF 50. Parked inside our 1963 Cessna is still corrosion free with no corrosion protection applied.
