Mel Chandler wanted to start a new topic:
I have a new topic. I broke off a corner of my windscreen and rather than spend $1,000 for a new one, I would like to make a new one. Has anyone done this in the shape of the usual windscreen? Has anyone made a three piece custom screen?

The early 701 plans called for a thinner windscreen that was riveted to the forward cabin frame tubes. Also look at Mark Philip’s 701, he ventured far from the plans to create a beautifully unique aircraft.
Yes, I like the Mark Phillips version. Several options are open at the start of summer. For now, I will glue the chunk back in place, cover the upper 6” of the entire windscreen with vinyl or aluminum and maybe during colder times, build a new system. I was hoping to get started on Jon Croke’s Affordaplane so my shop is busy. Waaahh.
