Aileron lock up

I purchased a 701 and am working on the condition inspection.

The builder installed electric flaps, but either there is no UP limit switch or it is incorrectly set. If I hold the switch up, the top bellcranks (?) will lock flat against the top of the fuselage. Correct, no aileron action at all. I'm not sure where to begin adjusting this.

Any help out there?

I tried to reply yesterday (Wed) and just a few minutes ago. Neither were done correctly and did not go.

I figured out that the manual handle moves only about 41mm and my actuator moves 100mm. and that is why you gave me the link to the 2in. actuator.

I found what I think is an equivalent that will arrive Jan. 26.

I can't thank you enough for the help. I am new to the homebuilt world and was feeling even older than my 76 years.

This is how I fixed the flaps.

I put the flaps in the retracted position (flaps up) and secured the tubing structure in that position before removing the actuator. I removed the actuator and the tube that secures it and measured the distance between the securing pins at each end of those. I then removed the bolt from the tube and actuator and fully extended the actuator inside the black tube. I drilled a new bolt hole in the black tube where the mounting pins were the correct distance apart. That set the maximum FLAPS UP.

Looking at the plans, I determined the movement required from full up to full down flaps to be 31mm. I constructed a spacer to set the distance between the top of the actuator to the end of the black tube at 31mm. This set maximum actuator retraction (FLAPS DOWN) at 31mm giving 15* flaps.

There is now a mechanical limit on flap extension and retraction.

I put a circuit breaker on the flaps in place of the fuse in case the next operator or I hold the switch too long.

The flaps now work properly on the ground - haven't yet been able to fly it - working on the Rotax.
