I’m hoping someone can help tell me why I have a ton of oil leaking from what looks like the lower/upper case. As you can see it’s leaking from the corners and heavily down the pilot side. Why is this happening? It’s all over the cowling as well. It’s not the oil filter, I have that tightened down really well. But I’m dumping a considerable amount down the front here and I shouldn’t be. Here is the video. Please help! I keep the engine oil on the lower end of the stick so it’s definitely not an overflow issue.

Did you try thoroughly cleaning off all the oil and briefly running the engine to see where the oil first appears?

Ok perfect suggestion, don’t know why I didn’t think of that.  Here is a picture after running for 10 mins. It’s either the crank case bolt or the little circular thing with the Jabiru logo. Do you happen to know the torque spec for these?  I’m hoping it just needs tensioning. I also noticed a little oil come down from the passenger side rod covers, but I may not have cleaned those as well as I should have. Or it’s leaking there too but that would be minimal.

The round cover with the logo is your oil pump.  Torque specs can be found in the Jabiru maintenance or overhaul manuals.  All these manuals are available free online at Arion Aircraft's (the USA dealer) website here: http://www.flylightning.net/jabiru-engine-manuals.html

Ok just checked and the bad news is these were already torqued to the 14 ft lb spec per the manual. Any other thoughts or is this only fixed with a tear down? This is a significant leak so I’m not comfortable with the idea of continually adding oil like I would with a continental. And I get worried on long cross country of simply running out of oil entirely at 3 hours or so. Any help would be appreciated!

You might talk to Nick at Arion Aircraft (flylightning.net) and see if he has any ideas.  Check the website for support telephone hours. If you're certain the leak is from the oil pump, that might be an easy removal, seal, and re-install.  The manuals are quite detailed on these procedures.

Any progress on your leak?  Another thought occurred to me it could be the crankshaft oil seal.  The oil can run down and around the oil pump.  The best way to check it is to clean up everything, do very short ground runs and see if you see oil weeping from the seal, accumulating in a drop at 6 o'clock.
