I aggree fully with Randy, I have a 912s running for about 60 hours now in a 601xl and hasn't missed a beat.
    Uses 12ltr's per hour @90-95 kt's.

I also have a mgm product I have the monochrome stratromaster, which works good appart from having to swap the signal in module initially.

Have had many fun hours in the XL, which climbs 1200 ft/min even with a passenger (light rotax again.

    Thanks Stefan

    Hi Kevin,
Greetings and all that. My XL project is slow but coming on.

    Hi Kevin
How's the engine debate going, have you decided on an engine?
What secondary latch for the canopy are you going to use?
Anything else new with you mate?

    Regards

    Hi Kevin,
Those are great switches, look very sturdy. where have you put all your fuses etc? The Voyager really simplifies all wiring etc. I put in an EXP Bus http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/elpages/expbus.php
    also makes life easy.
    Darryl.

Gday Kevin looks good you should ask david graham about engines his gets hot mine is ok if that means the further south you go the coolerthey get
  • Kevin Rudd

    Hi Paul
I have heard of that but I know of engines that get hot down here as well it has as much to do with the engine as the climate I think

    cheers Kevin

    Greetings Kevin,
At present I am working on the instrument panel and the canopy. It is slow but sure. Jimmy Williams is doing the inspections and he is coming out tonight to check progress. I have a Rotax motor to install.

Kevin, that is very uncertain: so uncertain that I am not game to put a time on it. Perhaps it will be possible to hazard a guess in a few months.

Well my mind is now made up and I have bought a Continental 0-200 for my plane so I have a few Jabiru bits for sale if anyone is interested
    cheers Kevin

Very nice looking instrument panel there Kevin. I wish you a speedy entrance into the fraternity. I've flown behind a Cont. 100hp in an AMD 601XLi trainer. It wasn't much less capable when compared to my 120hp Jab. I think that in a 601XL airframe, the Jab can't turn fast enough to make 120 hp anyway. I'd guess I am truly getting about 100 - 115 hp. It's all good... when I am flying and can cruise climb 500 fpm with full fuel and about 400 pounds in the seats, who give's a rat's ass anyway? It's a lot like sex; even when it's bad it's great, right?

    Hi Kevin
I just did a quick check in the google groups site and last correspondence from our dealer Allan Barton for a todds was "A rough guide the price to Bendigo will be $650 AUD I am still awaiting the final price".
The LP canopy is being sold from Zenith for $522 USD. I am selling for $500 AUD . No international freight charges, no GST, no waiting.
I dont know where you got the $300 price tag for a todds from but if it is genuine, I would advise you to take advantage of that deal. Please remember that a todds is just regular perspex and is also proned to cracking if you are not careful.

    Regards
    Phill

Glad you were not hurt....and insured (bonus!). The CH750 builds very fast, and is a joy to fly "off-road"... but not fast in the airspeed dept. Around 95 - 100mph it really hits a wall.
The CH801 is a bear to build and hits the wall around 115mph regardless of the horse power it has...flies like a pickup truck.
