I was just viewing and enjoying your photos. I like the string of blue lights under the glare shield. What are they and where did you get them?
It looks good for our trip to SA this week. We were concerned about whether or not the TDA would cancel the meeting due to the swine flu hysteria. What are you hearing regarding flu cases / threat in SA this weekend? I'd truly hate to miss this trip. We look forward to seeing our favorite old Air Force friends who live in San Marcos every year at the Texas Dental Meeting.
If I haven't already told you, the AW Cert. is done as of Wednesday. Now I'm waiting out the weather, an aerobatic contest at my airport and my personal schedule to do the first flight.
I'd love to spent an evening checking it out and talking airplanes but these meetings end up being a vacation for me and my wife after 5PM. If I took up "her time" she'd kill me. I have to admit, she's been pretty patient through the building process so she's entitled to some R&R on the river.
We'll have to meet at a fly in.... that's "my time".
Will do. My dad and I spent about four hours last night with my paint guy. We are putting on 1" wide red stripe detail. The stripe is in the silver field about an inch off of the blue field. The blue, silver, red, silver result produces enough interest to break up the large blocks of blue and silver without being too "busy". No pictures yet but they will be on my page soon when we finish. The process is very labor intensive but so far it is coming out okay. It will take another three to four hours to complete the stripes.
Have you sat in the seats for any length of time yet?
I spoke with Javier and mailed him a pattern for my side panels and told him to use your measurements for the seats... I also sent some pics of my center console layout to see if he has any ideas on how to cover it without having physical access to it.
I could make a pattern of it as well, and may just do that, but it will probably work if I get an extra yard or 2 of the material from him and just do that myself. I still have a few holes to cut into it.
That is the proper tone and approach Alex. With the EAA's help and your persistence, I expect that you will get your inspection done soon. Remember, you are not asking for special treatment... in fact, you have already been the recipient of special treatment that is categorically unacceptable. You and every other homebuilder should be able to get a fair hearing in the form of an airworthiness inspection. Let your work stand on its own merits(which are considerable BTW). I look froward to hearing about your passage into Phase 1.

What grade of oil would you run in a Jabiru 3300 after break-in down here close to the gulf where it never gets terribly cold?
