Well done for making effort in challenging conditions! Take a look at the hints and tips and our blog - I am sure you have similar problems to us there!

Looking good so far. Yes it is really cool to be part of this large "family", specially with all of us from different parts of the world. Its amazing how we interact with each other. I think world goverments good learn a thing or two from all of us.

Hi, no we will not be making Airventure. We are staying focous on finishing our 701. Still lots of work yet. For your information we paid $8500 CDN funds for our rebuilt 80hp 912 from Mark. The fellow that rebuild the engine is one of two outfits here in Canada that can work on certafide rotax engines. He also updated to the slipper clutch. I for one think you can not beat this. Also with the 80hp you do not have that shaking like you do with the 100hp. There is a 701 here with the 100hp and at start up and shut down you think the aircraft is going to come apart. The Dogs name is LULU, we have one other named nezzy.

On Occasion I run into a good used one and get it rebuilt to a 0 timed unit. I sold 3 such engines last year. you just have to keep checking with me to see if I ahve found one. If your looking for enw then I can help you right away, just send a letter to me at Rotax@can-zacaviation.com

Great progress - looks like the skins all fit fine! - looks like a tidier job than mine - keep up the good work.

    Isaac,

Re. our conversation in Bangkok. I have been looking for books that might be helpful to you. There is an EAA book: Firewall Forward: Engine Installation Methods, by Tony Bengelis. The instrument panel has two groups, engine instruments and flight instruments. I do not have any (installation) book on this. Flight instruments and engine instruments are explained in detail in many PPL,&CPL training books.

I have a week at home to work on airplane. Hopefully, I can finish with the fuselage in this session.

    Have fun.

    Isaac,

When I opened up the wings, I noticed that Wing Rear Channels of both my wings were not exactly in line. So, you are not the only one with this problem. I try to make better wings in this rebuild.

I am looking forward to meet you again around the end of the month.

    Hi Isaac and Nita

Thanks for your comment on the fuel senders. These were ordinary Stewart Warner senders from Aircraft Spruce. They are used with the ISS gauges also sold by Aircraft Spruce. They have been modified. The original senders were taken apart and all the steel pieces were replaced with aluminum. I saved over one pound on the four senders. This was a lot of work but since I'm using a heavier engine (Cont. 0200) I use every opportunity to save weight. If you need to acess the sender later on just fly cut a hole in the skin over the sender and the rivet a circular patch to close.

Hi Isaac and Nita, If you need help finishing the aircraft or training, I can come help you. I live in the USA but love going all over the world helping builders. I have built three Zenith CH-701s and I am an FAA Gold Seal and Master Flight Instructor. I also hold an Airline Transport License both here in the USA and in The Philippines.
