Hello John, how are you doing? I'm living in North Pole, Alaska now ... good to hear from you. I'm going to build the CH750 ... ordered the tail kit , plans, and build videos ...
Jon, Thanks for your comment of encouragement about me making my first part. I bought the plans back in January and have been working towards acquiring and making the tools and jigs to get me to this point. I know my progress will not be a record setter since I am only able to devote one day a week to my project (I work two jobs) but, that is OK with me. My motto in my professional life as well as for this build is “One thing at a time.”
Hi Jon, The O-290 added 30 pounds over the O-235. I'm not sure if much HP advantage was added. at 75% power it will cruise at 125 or so. But I think I may have power issues elsewhere. The prop is a 68" 3 blade warp drive. I used light weight a light weight prop, altenator, starter, and battery. and made up for the added weight. I am going to switch from the slick mags to an electronic ignition. I am tickled at the way it flys. I was leery of the rudder but once it was airborne all my doubts went away.

Plans-only build - I am impressed. Looking forward to seeing it. I will keep you and 63S in mind when I get into the planing stages of the trip.

Hi Jon,
Yep, the one and only :)
Sold the Excalibur, moved to Mexico for a year and have now moved back to Florida.
Currently flying a nice 2001 CHALLENGER till I get my 601 back into the air. I'm about 30% completed with the "B" Mod :)
