To answer your question on 650 mass balance arm weights: My left wing is with the flex aileron hinge and also with the trim tab option. It took 10 of the large weights to balance the aileron to the neutral position.
Stay in touch with me it sounds like we're near the same point in our build process, some times I feel like I'm all alone in this wing build, video not much help, and build CD all seem to be of the older wing versions, I'm left building from the prints. I feel more comfortable building from step by step plans.
I too was missing some of the latest updated parts shown in the prints and was able to order them from Zenith. You most likely will find the aileron bell crank push rods are too short (185mm, the prints show them to be 230mm). I bought 5/16 fine threaded stainless steel rod and made repacements.
I am about to receive my new Viking engine, with the entire firewall forward kit. My only question so far is where did you put the return fuel line back into the tank?
This airplane is the 601XLR. I have flown it. It has a 0235 Lycoming on it now. The engine has no logs, and I believe that it is time to call it a "core".

Do you have any other comments about the Viking?
