Please shout if there's something obviously missing :) I'm putting a Rotax 912ULS on the front.

Hi
I would swap the position of the radio with the fuel gage and ELT as you don't need them in regular flight.
I don't know how you plan to use this plane and if it will change, but in my 701 I planned some space for a transponder and an Ipad that I installed later. That involved a really compact setup for the instruments at first, but it made a lot of sense later.
I also agree with Pat for the trim position, but your solution tu use switchs on the grip seems good too.
Regards,
Francois
Thanks for the advice Pat. I'm actually now thinking of getting a grip that includes the trim switch on it so that I can do it all with the right hand while it is on the stick. Haven't decided yet though, but I can definitely see what you mean.
A friend of mine says I should put the radio on the left so I can use it with my free hand. Most (all?) of the time I'll be setting frequencies from the EFIS so I'm not sure that it matters but curious if anyone has an good info on that choice.
4&5 should be a lower, closer to the throttle. So its not a stretch to the trim with your index finger. As my hand is on the throttle almost always, an I make many trim adjustments with any throttle change during cruise. Think of the 2 units as one. Place your hand on throttle palm down, stick out your index finger, trim toggle should be located @ that spot, give or take. You'll enjoy the 912.
For some odd reason, the screenshot I took from the MGL website wasn't of their EFIS-lite, it is supposed to be the 8.5" Explore-lite.
