Fuel pump options

Has anybody had to replace their fuel pumps? I have had recurring leak issues on the copper washers (against the pump houssing), annealing them or replacing several times. The issue appears to be the small sealing surface on the pump housing itself. While I managed to get one pump more or less leak free, I stripped the housing thread on  the second one trying to snug in on a brand new washer that was still leaking.I believe these are Bosch or Bosch clone pumps but wonder if someone else has…See More

Hi John I noticed from your side on photo that you must have custom cut your windscreen at the sides where that useless part of the Lexan wraps down the side of the fuse. It really looks nice. I am at that stage of contemplating how to install the Cruzer windscreen but I'm scared to cut those side flaps off which seem to interfere with other rivet holes etc. If I left it as per the supplied Cruzer windscreen it looks awful and the inside will become an insect trap area where a vacuum cleaner would not reach. HOW DID YOU FIND THE RIGHT SIDE CURVE and was there any installation Knock on's that affected the install.

I did order mine for Aircraft spruce.   I ended  up needing some 90 deg ports off the top and was able to order them directly from Andair.  Surprisingly,  I received them in about a week.   I have heard that they have less than good response times.   They proved me wrong.  It is a well built valve.   I had one in the RV 10 that I built before the cruzer.

Also John  I'm using a 2300 VW/Porsche Engine(direct drive)... I'm not building a standard pulley, I'm using the flywheel end(the proper end)!!!   These engines are use in Europe and one company has a certified design!   The Porsche engine was used in the Moony's year ago!

Hey John

I don't think or remember what the ohm readings on the iss senders???  I did use the IIC senders as well as the gauges.   I purchased my senders from Van/s and my gages from ACS.  Vans use the same gauges but they have them branded with the Van's name on them!!!!  ACS is the best place to buy the IIC gauges and senders from.  As long as you use the same senders as the gauges it did not matter!!!!

Hope that helps... I have switched over to building the 750 Cruzer now as it came out just as I was finished redesigning all of the mods that the CruZer came out with!

The UL engine is awesome. A friend of mine has one in his 701.

I have a 601HDS with a Rotax 912, which is a great engine.....but if I had to change out in the future I would certainly think about the UL as a replacement.
