I'm building from plans only. It has never been a problem. :-)
Laquer thinner melts the adhesive right off and is cheaper and a little more friendly than many chemicals.
Acetone, soak the label using a rag, etc.
Get a can of spray brake cleaner. Spray, soak for a minute and peel. Then use soft cloth sprayed with brake cleaner and remove remaining glue. Works great for sharpie pen marks and about anything you need cleaned. Is handy, quick, convenient and works great. Do not get it on plastic parts though.
Soak it with lacquer thinner from a rag, leave it on for a new york minute and it peels off real easy. Then use a rag with lacquer thinner and clean up the residue. Easiest part of the build.
WD-40 works great!
