    Hi Dave
I've just watched the latest Zenair newsletter DVD and was very excited to find that you put pushrods in your wings instead of cables. I would be greatful if you could share some photos and tech details about your installation as I think this is the way to go.

    Hello Dave,

I have also just watched and very much enjoyed your contribution to the latest newsletter - You may have missed your calling - I am sure you could sell snowballs to eskimos! Who wouldn't want to build a plane after watching the DVD?

    Regards

    Hi David,
I have just watched the video. Very nice airplane and lots of information. I have a question; did yoy get the approval from Zenithair to have the wing locker door installed the way you have it done, with just one lock and no additional fastener...??

    Thanks

Hello Colonel, Just watched your video from the newsletter DVD. I really like your airplane. I'm building one just like it. (I hope) Still undecided on the engine however I do like the Corvair. Actually I like them all. Have you ever been on a C26 from the Ga Guard? I've got 25 years in so far and will try to make it to 30. Remember, you can ride "space A" with me.
I am curious about those push pull tubes instead of cables. Sounds like a good idea. Take care.

    Dave,
Has a question, I watched your video and I think that you said that you sometimes fly with the right side of the canopy on the first latch, which would leave a small gap (improved airflow) especially while sitting on the ground. I've often had trouble getting a complete latch on the right side, and often wondered if it would be ok to fly with the first latch only. You have any problems in the air??
    Thanks,
    John

I noticed on your video, after you closed the canopy, that you were "hammering" on the right side. I do that exact same thing. I wonder if there's anybody that can get the canopy closed without breaking into a sweat. I know of one guy here, that takes his rubber seal off in warmer weather.
Nice job on the airplane. Thanks for taking time to answer!

Hi Dave-have watched dvd #171 several times-you have a sharp 601. I put a reply on Daid X johnson's NTSB discussion. I meant to place it on your site. Anyhow, my first wing is ready to rivit top skin- bottom is rivited. To install push-pull rods, must I do it before closin up th wing or can I do it later. Also, did you use ZAC bellcrank, what size rods, guides. All info would be appreciated.

David... I believe that you stated (in a video) that you had discussed with Zenith and had installed aileron push/pull tubes instead of the standard cables. If you have any info or pictures of that installation I would really appreciate reviewing them... Thanks, Jerry Duncan (gfduncan@cox.net)

Hello Col, I like the way you secure your wing lockers. I'm doing my first wing locker now and was curious what type of latch/lock you used. I found a pretty nice one from West Marine but the actual "catch" would have to be placed about and inch down inside the locker.

    Thanks,
    Jeff Webb

HI DAVID I CAME ACROSS YOUR WEB WHERE YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT FLYING TO NY, AND ABOUT THE PUSH RODS. I BELIEVE WHAT STEVE WESTON STATED. PUSH RODS ARE THE WAY TO GO. IF YOU COULD STAND ONE MORE REQUEST FOR INFOR. ON YOUR INSTALLATION I WOULD APPREC IT. I LIVE IN PANAMA CITY,FIRST FLIGHT WAS OCT 8TH. HAVE 10 HRS. DON'T LIKE THE CABLE AILERON.

David: We are building a 650 and stalled waiting for upgrades. As long as we have to reopen the wings, we want to put push rods and counterweights in instead of aileron cables and would really like to see how you did it. The Waiex I built had push rods, so I am familiar with the installation and believe this is the way to go. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.
